Most memorable thing you’ve done this past year: Found a dried frog in my dryer—with my clean clothes.

Most memorable thing you’ve done this past year: I’ve been teaching myself to write with my left hand—because ambidexterity is awesome! 

What do you always have with you? I carry my sketchbook and pencil pouch with me (almost) everywhere. If I’m not drawing with those, then I’m doodling on whatever scraps of paper I have at hand. 

One item on your bucket list: Someday I’m going to finish one of these stories floating around in my head. Then maybe I won’t be the only person staying up all night over these characters.

Heather White

Favorite book: The second most read book of my life is most likely Pride and Prejudice; it is one of the most hilarious books I have ever been graced with the opportunity to devour with my eyes. I also read a lot of old science fantasy books that almost no one has ever heard of. One of my favorites is The Witches of Karres. 

Unique hobbies: I create stained glass, am a black belt in Taekwondo, ride horses, and research and make my own costumes. 

Favorite Mormon Insights article: I read a really good one recently called “Prayer of an Atheist.” It’s all about the power of wanting to believe and the power of prayer. It’s a wonderful perspective on prayer and brought to mind the many times I’ve had my own prayers answered.

Favorite conference talk: Picking a favorite conference talk is like picking a favorite child. I love them all. But a top pick is “Come What May, and Love It,” by Joseph B. Wirthlin. 

What is something hard that you have done in your life? Run a 50-mile race with 8,850 feet in elevation gain.
