Following these three steps can help us have a more abundant life on earth and achieve the most abundant life of all––eternal life.
With homework, family duties, job responsibilities, and church callings filling our days, we can sometimes start to feel like we’re just going through the motions. Sister Cheryl A. Esplin, a counselor in the Primary General Presidency, outlines three principles that will help us get more out of life.
Seeking Light and Truth
Sister Esplin quotes President James E. Faust: “Opportunities for the abundant life increase as we pursue the quest for truth and knowledge.” Sister Esplin reminds us that the search for light and truth is a “lifelong pursuit that requires great effort and diligence on our part.”
Developing an Eternal Perspective
Although we may face trials and disappointments, we need to be humble enough to ask the Lord to help us develop an eternal perspective. As we gain greater faith in Jesus Christ, our trust in him will increase and our understanding of his plan for us will grow.
Expressing Gratitude
We must also live with a grateful heart and express gratitude to the Lord. Having a grateful heart allows us to better see Heavenly Father’s hand in our lives. In turn, our gratitude allows him to bless us even more.
By living these principles, we can find more happiness and abundance in everyday life, and we can live closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through his ultimate sacrifice, we can eventually obtain the most abundant life of all––eternal life.

I feel like all three of things go hand in hand. You can’t develop one without neglecting the others, and each of them builds the others up. Great article!
