The Answer to Every Question: The Way, the Truth, and the Life

No matter how difficult our questions may be, Jesus Christ can help us answer them through our faith.

One of the greatest blessings we have in the latter days is access to the ideas of millions of other internet users. It has never been easier to learn from so many diverse perspectives the world over. However, this same blessing can also be a source of confusion as we try to reconcile a myriad of voices that all have different goals, intentions, and interpretations.

This confusion can lead to questions that might not have answers on the internet. But in his talk “The Answer is Jesus,” Elder Ryan K. Olsen addresses how we can find answers to even our most complicated questions. He explains, “The answer to the simplest questions and to the most complex problems is always the same. The answer is Jesus. Every solution is found in Him.” Though this may seem like a simplistic response to the unique challenges each of us faces, Jesus Christ really can be the answer to every question or obstacle.

In the end, if our purpose in life is truly to return to our Father in Heaven, then every question ultimately comes back to Jesus, for he is “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He can help us distinguish between truth and error if we learn of him and his character. If we exercise our faith in following Jesus Christ, he will guide us through the complexities and confusions of this life and lead us back home.

Tuning out the myriad voices that surround us, we can remember to hear God’s voice as we seek truth. He is waiting for us to reach out in search of answers to our questions. As Elder Olsen counsels, “Throughout your life, no matter how difficult or confusing the challenges may be, you can always remember that the answer is simple: it is always Jesus.”
