During hard times, it’s tempting to feel lost and discouraged. But as we exercise faith, we can know that we are never alone, forgotten, or unloved when we face trials.
Sometimes our adversities seem like mountains, too tough to conquer. During our darkest moments, we might lose hope and wonder, “Why me?” In “Mountains to Climb,” President Henry B. Eyring shares that as we exercise faith, we can be confident that God is there to help us and love us. With faith in Christ, we can endure our trials.
The strength to endure comes from relying upon a foundation of faith. We build this foundation by “choosing the right consistently.” Our faith in Christ becomes stronger when we serve, forgive, and love others as he would. President Eyring assures, “It is never too late to strengthen the foundation of faith.”
During our struggles, we may feel lost and forsaken. However, President Eyring reminds us, “We never need to feel that we are alone or unloved in the Lord’s service because we never are. . . . The Savior has promised angels . . . to bear us up. And He always keeps His word.” Though we may not know how long or how intense our trials will be, we can have faith that God’s love will never fail us.
Hard times are certain. Luckily, God’s love and support are just as sure. President Eyring promises, “If we have faith in Jesus Christ, the hardest as well as the easiest times in life can be a blessing.” By using faith to summit our own metaphorical mountains, we can find peace through knowing that Christ is always with us and that we will emerge from our trials stronger and brighter than we were before.
