Sincere seekers of Christ are promised they will find him in the temple. Relief and answers to questions can come through him.
I have had my fair share of personal experience with anxiety and panic attacks. Particularly, this last month has been one of acute anxiety as I have sought to excel in many different areas of my life and often failed. To alleviate my fears, I sought a stronger connection with God through the scriptures and my prayers, but the peace I felt from communing with God in those ways did not last long. I felt frustrated and lonely.

I mentioned my feelings to a friend who encouraged me to go to the temple. In his talk “The Lord Jesus Christ Will Come Again,” President Russell M. Nelson discusses how temples can bring Christ into our lives. President Nelson promises, “Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find Him in the temple.”
My friend’s advice, coupled with the hope I gained from President Nelson’s promise, allowed me to find Christ in the temple when I needed it. I remember sitting there and sending my thoughts to God, feeling like some things in my life were finally starting to make sense. I remember the internal dialogue that became my central focus as Christ pointed me toward hopeful thoughts. Through peace and assurance from the Spirit, my mind and body reset. The experience was something like getting into a much-needed shower—I could sigh with relief. I still didn’t have exact answers to my questions, but I had Christ’s promises to remind me all would be well someday.
For those who cannot go to the temple, these promises and blessings are available through family history work. This work involves gathering historical records, which allows members to serve in the temple and bind the families of the earth together through covenantal promises. As we join the Lord in his work, we are promised to find him and his peace.
Temple worship makes all the difference in providing relief to wounded and weary souls; when we go to the temple, we are given the opportunity to lay everything at the altar and allow Christ to help us. Dedicate time to the Lord. As we do so, the veil between us and our Savior can become thinner and we can find genuine, lasting peace. Jesus Christ wants to administer his relief and joy to you, and it’s never too late to show up.
